Bustling Sawtelle Boulevard will soon see the battle of the shaved ice sellers, as two new shops are set to open. There's Blockheads Shavery Co. (@blockheadsla) on Mississippi Avenue, a couple doors down from Coffee Tomo. Blockheads specializes in “snow cream,” a blend of Hawaiian shaved ice with and ice cream. Just a block north of Olympic Boulevard where Relaxation Boba used to be, Brian's Shave Ice hopes to receive final approval from Health Department today and open on Wednesday.
In totally unrelated news, the neighborhood will also get a new Mexican restaurant when Nina's Mexican Food opens at the corner of Sawtelle at the corner of Idaho.
Blockheads Shavery Co.: 11311 Mississippi Ave, LA.
Brian's Shave Ice: 11301 Olympic Blvd., Ste. #103, LA.
Nina's Mexican Food: 1651 Sawtelle Blvd., LA.
