In Shivaya , choreographer Malathi Iyengar and her Rangoli Dance Company pay tribute to the troupe's 25th anniversary at two local venues. This troupe of highly trained local dancers, an established force in classical Indian Bharatanatyam dance, is complemented for these concerts by guest artists from India. After opening with traditional Bharatanatyam dances with live musicians, Iyengar's latest, Shivaya , celebrates the elements of earth, water, fire, air and space with music composed and arranged by Rajkumar Bharathi. Another scheduled work is a specially commissioned Chhau dance depicting ecstatic dancing peacocks. A postperformance reception follows each show. Enjoy the dancing then stay for the anniversary party. Nate Holden Performing Arts Center, 4718 W. Washington Blvd.; Sat., Aug. 28, 5 p.m.; $20-$50. (323) 964-9766, ebonyrep.org.
