A woman was beaten, robbed and sexually assaulted near the Beverly Center on L.A. Westside last weekend, and the LAPD announced today that they're seeking your help in finding the man who allegedly did it.

It happened about 3:30 a.m. Saturday on Burton Way between South Hamel Road and South Willaman Drive, according to an LAPD statement.

Det. Javier Vargas told the Weekly

That investigators have “scientific evidence” and that they're waiting for results from a lab.

According to the department's statement, here's what happened after the man approached the woman:

Threatening the victim with a handgun, he demanded her valuables and then directed her to a nearby secluded area where he beat and sexually assaulted her. He then left the area on foot with the victim's money and jewelry.

The area near Beverly Hills isn't exactly barren. Party-goers often congregate at Jerry's Famous Deli nearby — on Beverly Boulevard.

The victim was not returning home from a club, Vargas said: “She was basically just walking alone.”

The guy cops are looking for is around 5 feet, 11 inches, 185 pounds, and in his late 20s or early 30s. He was wearing a black, button-down shirt, dark pants and a baseball cap.

Anyone who might know who the suspect is was asked to call detectives at 213-486-6910.
