Five People Hospitalized after Traffic Accident near Avenue 38

PALM DESERT, CA (April 11, 2022) – Friday afternoon, a three-vehicle collision on Varner Road sent five people to the hospital, police said.

At around 5:55 p.m., the crash happened in the area of Varner Road and Avenue 38, according to authorities.

Meanwhile, fire crews along with paramedics arrived at the scene at around 6:41 p.m.

Consequently, they located five victims, including four with serious injuries and one who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Moreover, one of the victims needed extrication, according to a fire officer.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Further details were not made available at this time, however; the accident is under active investigation.
