While the historic Tam O’ Shanter in Atwater Village is Scottish 364 days a year, on March 17, the 100-year-old pub goes Irish. There will be a big St. Patick’s Day party in a tent and in the restaurant, as well as live Irish bands playing all day with Guinness kegs, green beer and raffles. They also will have corned beef and cabbage plates as a special that day. The Ploughboys will play at 12:30 p.m., followed by Haywire at 4 p.m., and Reaver Ship from 8 p.m. to close. There’s a $10 cover to enter the tent and proof of vaccination will be required for all guests over 12 years old, and a valid photo ID for those 21+ for alcohol service. Lunch and dinner reservations are available 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. There are VIP tickets ($139) available via OpenTable Experiences.

UNCOOL Burgers and bar in West Hollywood is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with green beers and a Shamrock Cocktail – a green-tinted citrus libation featuring rum, poire, lime juice and Allspice, for $10. The Green Barrel House Sunny Daze is $7 for a 14 oz. brew, available on March 17 only. The bar is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., daily.

Trejo’s Coffee & Donuts has five specialty donuts now through Thursday, March 17 including: 

  • Mint buttercream frosting with crumbled oreos
  • Cream cheese clouds and rainbow royal icing
  • Basic glaze with lucky charms and green buttermilk drizzle
  • Mint pastry cream-filled, topped with buttercream frosting, dark chocolate chips and dark chocolate 
  • Vegan dark chocolate glaze with shamrock sprinkles

Green Draft Beer for $5 is available all day on St. Paddy’s Day at the end of the rainbow, at the 21 Square Bar + Kitchen in Torrance. Toast to the Irish at the bar, tables, or outdoor dining area with pool views, where a fire pit, lounge seating, and a hammock  provide the backdrop for its  “Coastal Hour” from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sample vegetarian options like charred cauliflower and roasted brussels sprouts, or bar bite classics like buffalo wings, mac & cheese or tater tots topped with a poached egg.

A Shamrock Macchiato is available on Dunkin’s new spring menu with layers of espresso atop Irish Cream flavor, with notes of sweet cream and vanilla that mimics Irish whiskey. Also available on the new menu is a Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew, a Salted Caramel Signature Latte, Roasted Tomato Toast and a warm Chocolate Croissant.

NORMS’ family friendly St. Patrick’s Day offering is a traditional Irish American meal complete with corned beef and cabbage, with Irish potatoes, soup of the day, choice of side Caesar or mixed-green salad, one scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream and a glass of green lemonade at an additional cost.  The four-course special will be available both in store and online, for dine-in and to-go orders, beginning at 11 a.m., on Thursday, March 17 only.

The Greyhound Highland Park and Glendale locations will be paying homage to their favorite Patricks this year. On Thursday, March 17, The Greyhound Bar & Grille will resurrect St. Patrick Swayze Day, featuring house-made corned beef, drink specials, and an all-day Swayze movie marathon. Over at Greyhound Glendale, March 17 marks the first ever St. Patrick Stewart Day, where guests can expect the same menu special of corned beef and drink specials, and yes, a Patrick Stewart movie takeover, including a “Star Trek: The Next Generation” marathon and “X-Men” power hour. Both locations also will have dedicated March Madness TVs for game-time viewing.

If you decide to stay home and mix it up, try this recipe for a Macha Margarita from Santo Spirits:

1.5oz Santo Blanco

2oz Milk product or substitute

1 Tbsp Matcha powder

.25oz Honey

Mint

 Directions:

Combine all ingredients, do a jig, and serve in a highball glass with mint garnish
