Another weekend, another chance for culinary excesses and tribute bands. Almost an answer to the ethnic feasting at the Greek and Little Ethiopian festivals last weekend, Saturday's Septemberfest (America's version of Oktoberfest) will be a celebration of all things American. Rather, a celebration of all the dishes we've commandeered from other countries (sausage, but BBQ'd!), and of course beer, the most beloved of America's adopted children.

Eat:Drink:Play will host the event on Saturday, September 19th at Paramount Studios, where a $40 ticket entitles you to unlimited pours of nearly 200 beers from over 60 breweries. The event will probably sell out (because some people just need that yearly fix of jingoism, and others can't get enough of a Tom Petty tribute band), and tickets won't be available at the door. So buy online now from Brown Paper Tickets, or snag one of the remaining $26 tickets available at Stub Dog.

Septemberfest: September 19, from 2-5 p.m. at Paramount Studios: 5555 Melrose Ave.
