Woman Dead After Impaired Driver Runs Red Light Causing Deadly Collision

PHOENIX, AZ (September 8, 2021) – Monday morning, 23-year-old Selemawit Negash was killed after a two-vehicle collision along 14th Avenue.

The collision occurred at around 7 a.m., September 6, near 14th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, as stated by report.

Per the Phoenix Police, Negash was driving a Nissan Sentra was heading south when a man was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe who was traveling east and suddenly run a red light and struck into Negash.

Ultimately, the force of the accident drove Negash’s Sentra through a block wall and into a home’s yard, killing her in the process.

Moreover, the man driving the vehicle had minor injuries and was also brought to the hospital.

The unidentified man is suspected to have been driving while intoxicated according to officials.

Meanwhile, the crash is currently under investigation.
