Read more about JR in “TED Award-Winning Street Artist JR Brings 'The Wrinkles of the City' to Los Angeles.” For locations of “The Wrinkles of the City” pieces, see our Google map.

We wanted to share a piece of JR's phenomenal film, Women Are Heroes. Once you see it, you may understand the political bent his work overseas has taken. While we don't have confirmation, we are pretty convinced that this is the project that won him the coveted TED prize.

He has spent a large amount of time in the Brazilian favela featured in the film, and consequently the Brazillian government has committed to an extensive renovation.

So much so, the house that he owned inside while completing his project there is being demolished for a bigger and brighter space. Now, if only we could say the same for the other areas highlighted in Women Are Heroes.

We don't want to spoil it for you, so take a moment and check out the trailer here. We promise, you will look at LA's “The Wrinkles of the City” in a different light. You can see more videos on the site for the film.
