While he is best known to audiences as Larry David's long-suffering manager on Curb Your Enthusiasm (among many other projects, including his rather excellent writing-directing feature debut, I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With), if you've seen Jeff Garlin perform stand-up you know he's a grand presence, charmingly self-deprecating and a great storyteller. He's especially good when it comes to the art of the riff: While all great comics learn to master the art of improvising a joke and playing off the audience, Garlin is one of the best. You'll have a rare chance to catch his on-the-fly magic in an intimate setting when he swings by the Nerdist Industries HQ this week for a full hourlong set to prep for an overseas tour. Get your tickets early!
