If you want to take a vacation, you can rent a property for a few days to a week. If you want a new place to live, you can lease a home for a year or even longer. But what if you need to find a temporary home for several months — and you’re also a celebrity trying to protect your privacy? Enter Roam Rentals, the unique extended-stay rental company for the stars.

Roam Rentals, founded by realtor Krystin Coyle, caters to celebrities, film industry professionals, and businesspeople on corporate trips. “When someone stays for two or three months, they want to make a home for themselves,” Krystin says. “That’s where I come in.”

Stars looking for an extended stay home can choose from full houses, penthouses and townhouses. However, they don’t have to simply find a listing they like and book it. Roam Rentals is also a business that prides itself on individualized services, so celebrities or their agents can make requests — and the company will do its best to meet them.

One of the most common requests Krystin gets is for last-minute bookings. Actors and other stars often have to change plans at a moment’s notice, which makes it difficult for them to find the temporary accommodations they need.

Roam Rentals stands apart from the crowd because it can accommodate these often-challenging requests. “Sometimes, they give us a week’s notice,” she says. When needed, the team can rapidly prep a property to feel like home. They also ensure discretion and privacy so that even A-listers can settle in and enjoy their temporary home in peace.

Roam Rentals has built a solid reputation for successfully catering to the needs of celebrities, but they aren’t the only ones who benefit. Krystin notes that because celebrities are often willing to pay a premium for these last-minute homes, the homeowners who contract with Roam Rentals often find that they can supplement their income more than they thought.

‘If you’re heading to your cabin for two months in the summer, you have options: leave your house vacant or spend a few hours prepping it and rent it out for five figures per month,” she says. “It’s an incredible opportunity for people”.

Currently, Roam Rentals includes about 60 Canadian properties, but the business continues to grow.

Roam Rentals creates a win-win arrangement: a beautiful, temporary home for celebrities and extra income for homeowners. It’s that arrangement that has made it a go-to rental company for stars from Hollywood and beyond. With international expansion on the horizon, it’s looking like booking temporary stays is about to get a lot easier for celebrities everywhere.
