After signing to Atlantic and changing their name, they released the album Dirty Sexy Knights in Paris  in 2002, and it looked like their star was only going to rise. However, two years later they had split up. Eric Gitter wants you to try the pistachio butter. “It’s life-changing,” promises the co-owner of specialty food store Epicurus Gourmet, while guiding some regulars over to the store’s tasting bar. Hillary Hirsch, one of Gitter’s co-owners, agrees with his praise of the green Ladurée spread. Although he seems to be overselling it, the butter, which tastes like a glorious mix of Nutella and heavy cream, does actually seem like something that could change one’s life.

Music Pick: Sisterook

There aren't many places in Southern California where an original band with its own distinctive style and unusual songs can escape notice for long, but Ventura County is one of them. Singer-guitarist Evangeline Noelle and her powerful combo are based in Ojai, where cover bands are far more likely to get attention than a group taking chances on their own songs. Noelle has a searing, thunderous voice, which she needs every ounce of to rise above the crushing hard-rock drive she and her bandmates generate.
