60-Year-Old Motorcyclist Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision on Hayden Drive

ESCONDIDO, CA (December 30, 2021) – A motorcycle crash on Hayden Drive claimed the life of Sean Van Reese, Thursday afternoon.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 12:20 p.m., at the intersection of Bear Valley Parkway and Hayden Drive.

Investigators determined that a Lexus NX 300 struck the rider who was traveling at high-speed on a 2006 Yamaha YZ450F. As a result, the impact threw the motorcyclist off the bike before striking the pole at the median.

The 30-year-old woman driving the Lexus SUV remained uninjured. However, the 60-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Sean Van Reese, succumbed to his injuries at Palomar Medical Hospital.

At this time, Escondido officials continue to investigate the fatal motorcycle collision.
