18-Year-Old Rider Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Accident near Southwest 41st Street
AMARILLO, TX (August 30, 2023) – Thursday night, Sean Philpot was killed in a motorcycle collision on South Washington Street.
Police responded to the scene around 9:18 p.m., near Southwest 41st Street on August 10th.
According to reports, the rider of a northbound motorcycle collided head-on with an SUV that was pulling out from a private parking lot. There, the driver struck the motorcyclist.
Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the rider dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the deceased victim as 18-year-old Philpot.
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the SUV driver to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Although, the name of the SUV driver remains unknown.
Amarillo police continue to investigate the cause of the accident and will release additional information once it becomes available. Once available, further details will be provided.
