Scott Weiland, the former lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, has died, according to multiple sources. The 48-year-old was reportedly found dead on his tour bus in Minnesota, where his band, Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts, were scheduled to perform tonight.

Weiland's friend Dave Navarro tweeted at 9:01 p.m.: “Just learned our friend Scott Weiland has died. So gutted, I am thinking of his family tonight.”

No further details are available at this time. Weiland had struggled with substance abuse issues for much of his career, though the exact cause of his death remains unclear at this time.

[Update at 11:02 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, 2015: After finding a substance that tested positive for cocaine on Scott Weiland's tour bus, police arrested Wildabouts bassist Tommy Black, 47, for possession of a controlled substance. The substance was found both in Weiland's bedroom and in Black's sleeping area.]
