Boomtown Brewery is having a birthday, orange is the new red at Eveleigh and axes will be flying on the Queen Mary for ScotsFestival — here’s what’s popping up.

Dine and drink like a Scot at The 27th annual ScotsFestival  and International Highland Games  on the Queen Mary this weekend. Indulge in meat pies, fish n’ chips, Scotch eggs, bangers n’ mash, haggis, scotch tastings, and drinks from multiple bars stationed throughout. The VIP bar, Nessie’s Nest, overlooks the Highland Games athletics field.

Competition categories include the caber toss, the hammer toss and stones of strength.

Immerse yourself in authentic culture through the artistry of border collie sheep herding, falconry demonstrations, ax throwing and archery, reenactments from Scottish clans, metalworking demos and more! Participation in these activities is free and included with your ticket.

Wed., Feb. 19

The city of Los Angeles and District 15 Councilmember Joe Buscaino will renamed a portion of the current Eubank Avenue after late Juanita’s owner George De La Torre Jr. in a special ceremony taking  at 11 a.m. at Juanita’s Foods headquarters located at 645 N. Eubank Ave. in Wilmington, California. Univision’s Luis Sandoval will host a celebratory reception immediately following the ceremony. Festivities include entertainment provided by Mariachi Los Reyes, prizes and plenty of free Juanita’s Menudo and Pozole.

Thu., Feb. 20

West Hollywood is turning 20 shades of orange as Orange Glou hosts its first orange wine popup bar in Los Angeles at Eveleigh on Sunset Boulevard. Sample a variety of natural skin contact wines sourced from throughout California and meet some of the best known and up-and-coming California natural winemakers in attendance, including Jared Brandt from Donkey & Goat in Berkeley, Mike Roth from Lo-Fi Wines in Santa Barbara, Michael Christian and Kyley Morgan from Los Pilares in San Diego and Abe Schoener from Scholium Project in L.A.

The Orange Glou popup will feature over 20 orange wines from over a dozen California natural winemakers including AmByth, Caleb Leisure Wines, Dirty & Rowdy, Forlorn Hope, Jolie Laide, Methode Sauvage, Ruth Lewandowski and more!

Orange Glou is the first  wine subscription service and wine bar pop-up devoted solely to skin contact wines, founded by Michelin-star veteran natural wine sommelier Doreen Winkler late last year.

Sat., Feb. 22

Boomtown Brewery is celebrating their fifth anniversary of brewing choice beers in Los Angeles by throwing an all-out bash with special release craft beer, food, DJ sets, games, giveaways, photo booths and more. There will be six limited releases for the event, three of which will be canned. Grub will be available from Highland HickoryTripp BurgersCarmela Ice Cream and a  special menu from chef Allen of Corazon LA. Featured musical sets come courtesy of DJ Peanut Butter Wolf , Novena Carmel and  Xica Soul.
