1 Killed in Scooter Accident on Claremore Lane and Cerritos Avenue

LOS ALAMITOS, CA (August 24, 2021) -Wednesday afternoon, a scooter rider was fatally struck in a crash on Claremore Lane in Los Alamitos.

Officers responded to the fatal incident around 2:20 p.m., at the intersection of Claremore Lane and Cerritos Avenue.

At this time, the events leading up to the crash remain unclear. However, officers say a car struck a person riding a scooter at the intersection.

Upon arrival, police located the scooter rider along with the involved driver and their passengers at the scene.

The rider was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver and their occupants did not suffer from any injuries and stayed at the scene to cooperate with the investigators.

At this time, the identity of the involved parties remain unclear.

The Los Alamitos authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the scooter-vehicle collision.
