Scenes From the San Gabriel Complex Fire

More than 1,250 firefighters have been battling the blazing San Gabriel Complex Fire, which has been raging in the mountains just north of Azusa since Monday, June 20. As of Friday afternoon, evacuations of adjacent areas in Duarte were lifted, but plumes of billowing smoke lingered on the horizon, as DC-10 planes dropped crimson fire retardant and helicopters plunged water on the conflagration.
