While Beverly Hills has more than its fair share of Italian food, it doesn't have anything quite like Scott Conant's highly acclaimed restaurant Scarpetta. But that, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times, is about to change. The New York restaurant, which has additional locations in Miami and Toronto, expects to open at the Montage Beverly Hills in October. An outpost is in the works for Las Vegas as well.

Conant told the Times, “I only want to open restaurants in places where I want to spend time. And the thing is, I think L.A. is one of the most exciting places in the country right now from a cuisine perspective. The produce and products in California really set the standard for the rest of the country.”

Scarpetta will replace Parq restaurant, which closes next week. Conant has not yet made a decision on who will be running the kitchen.

Scarpetta: 225 N. Canon Drive, Beverly Hills.
