SO LONG “Quarantine 15”!

This working mama needs to get rid of these unwanted lbs that I graciously gained in the last year. This is something I’m sharing with my readers because summer is right around the corner and I’m going to be brutally honest … the thought of a swimsuit makes me cringe!

Quarantine was rough! Like a lot of other working parents, I wear a lot of hats and I was not prepared to homeschool my kids, clean my house, and do all the laundry on top of tending to the four businesses I’m running or involved in. Needless to say, I felt like I had to take care of everyone but myself and when it came to our diet … it was kind of anything goes.

My struggle with eating healthy has always been real. There are so many fad diets and so many companies trying to sell weight loss, it’s hard to know who to trust. At this point in my life, I don’t just want to lose a few pounds, I want to be healthy physically, mentally and emotionally. And most of all, I want my family to learn how to develop a healthy relationship with real food that makes us all feel good, not just look good.

As much as I wanted to adopt a new and improved healthy food lifestyle, read all the books and do all the meal prep, I simply couldn’t find the time. More than that, I didn’t know who to trust. Thankfully, I live in a community where women support other women, and I was led to another “Mom Founded” business called PlateTherapy.com to help me on my journey. Plate Therapy’s founder, Danielle McPartlin, went through the same weight struggle after having two kids. She also has autoimmune conditions that forced her to rethink her diet and how different types of food can affect the body. This journey led her to start Plate Therapy as a way to help others use “food as medicine” to heal the body from the inside out.

Plate Therapy is honestly the answer to my prayers. Danielle is from Illinois and likes to call her style of cooking “Comfort food made healthy,” which is exactly what I needed to get my family on board, especially Kyle with his Midwest roots. The entire menu is gluten-free, dairy-free, no refined sugars and free of preservatives. Danielle’s team does all the shopping, cooking and calorie counting and I’m most excited about their “Macro Meal Plans.” My specific plan is built with three meals each day and snacks that are delivered to my doorstep twice per week.

I can’t recommend PlateTherapy.com enough! Not only will I be ready for summer, now I’m ready for life with a whole new relationship with food.

Plate Therapy delivers to select areas in the greater Los Angeles area. Also available for free pick-up in Santa Clarita.
