Savaughn Jojuan Colon Barnes Arrested after Car Crash near Dillon Avenue Leaves Bicyclist Dead

SAN JACINTO, CA (December 8, 2022) – Sunday night, Savaughn Jojuan Colon Barnes fatally struck a bicyclist in a hit-and-run crash.

The incident happened on December 4th, at around 8:20 p.m. near the intersection of State Street and Dillon Avenue.

According to reports, 21-year-old Barnes was driving a white Hyundai and was traveling at high speed. Meanwhile, a bicyclist was standing in the center median, and Barnes’ vehicle struck him. Barnes then continued to drive southbound on State Street without rendering aid to the victim.

Emergency crews arrived shortly after and pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.

Following the crash, police were able to locate Savaughn Jojuan Colon Barnes in the 1900 block of Acacia Avenue. They arrested him and he was booked into Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility. It is currently unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
