33-Year-Old Driver Arrested after DUI Collision near Vista Village Drive

VISTA, CA (April 24, 2023) – Monday afternoon, Saul Celerino Villanueva Delgado was arrested after a DUI crash on North Santa Fe Avenue.

First responders arrived to the scene around 2:30 p.m., near Vista Village Drive on April 17th.

Per reports, the driver of a blue Audi was traveling recklessly at a high rate of speed. As a result, officers began their pursuit of the suspect, 33-year-old Delgado.

The driver then made an unsafe and illegal U-turn and ran through a red light at the intersection of North Santa Fe and East California Avenue. Consequently, the driver lost control and drove through a fence before striking an oncoming Nissan SUV.

Paramedics arrived and transported Delgado and an occupant inside the SUV to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Offices then arrested and processed Delgado for DUI charges.
