27-Year-Old Driver Dead, Passenger Hospitalized after Single-Vehicle Collision on Tyler Street

THERMAL, CA (January 13, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, Saul Bautista Hernandez was killed in a solo-car crash on Airport Boulevard.

Police responded to the scene around 3:30 p.m., near Tyler Street on December 8th.

According to reports, Hernandez was driving a black Dodge Durango east on Airport Boulevard when he veered right off the road and slammed into a power pole.

Upon impact, Hernandez was thrown from the vehicle onto the road, causing head trauma.

Medics arrived and pronounced 27-year-old Hernandez, of Coachella dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics took his 27-year-old female passenger to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs for further treatment of minor injuries.

Following preliminary duties, investigators determined that Hernandez was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. However, further details will be provided once made available.
