It’s that time of the year again, when glo-stick-adorned dance freaks gather for a day and night of nonstop E music — and by E we mean electronic. This year’s Electric Daisy Carnival boasts some biggies. Paul Oakenfold headlines, and his bodacious, rock-damaged techno melds are tailored for this kind of mega-mixer. Same goes for Deep Dish. The double-trouble trancers and their innovative remixes of dance and pop staples always enhance a party. Other headliners at the outdoor shake-fest include Kascade, serving up sensuous yet powerful beat and melody couplings; Stanton Warriors, known for breakbeats both brutal and beautiful; and Pendulum, Aussie drum and bass artists who bang it good and groovy. With dozens more DJs, carnival rides, art installations and other attractions, this Daisy’s gonna bloom bigger and brighter than ever. Best of all, this year you don’t have to drive to the boonies to get your electro on: The party’s right in the heart of the city. Exposition Park and the Coliseum, 3939 S. Figueroa St., L.A.; Sat., July 30, 4 p.m.-4 a.m.; www.electricdaisycarnival.com.
