5-Year-Old Girl Dies in Pursuit Crash on Sutro Street in Reno

RENO, NV (May 6, 2021) – The life of 5-year-old Sariah Sheppards ended Wednesday night after a deadly car crash on E. 9th Street.

The incident happened just before 7:00 p.m., on April 28, at E. 9th Street and Sutro Street.

According to reports, Sariah and her mother were driving home when a fleeing vehicle struck them along the road.

Sariah’s mother survived with minor injuries. Responding rescuers rushed the young girl with life-threatening injuries to Renown Regional Medical Center for further treatment.

Tragically, the girl was declared dead at Renown several hours after the crash.

Meanwhile the suspect, 33-year-old Jesse Bennett of Eugene, Oregon was arrested. He now faces multiple charges including DUI and possession of drugs for sale.
