Bicyclist Fatally Struck in Deadly Accident on La Tarriga Way

SACRAMENTO, CA (May 27, 2022) – Monday morning, Santiago McCrea was killed in a bicycle collision on Deer Lake Drive.

Police responded to the scene around 8:45 a.m., in the area of Deer Lake Drive and La Tarriga Way.

For reasons under investigation, a city garbage truck collided with a bicyclist in the area.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, first responders arrived and declared the bicyclist dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the deceased victim as McCrea.

Officials urge those with information regarding the accident to contact local police offices immediately. At this time, an active investigation is still currently ongoing.
