After being closed for more than three months, the Santa Monica Pier was reopened with some restrictions on Friday.

Every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., a limited number of people will be allowed to walk or ride their bikes on the pier, entering through the Ocean Front Walk on the beach level.

Rides and attractions in Pacific Park will be closed — at least during the initial reopening phase — but some surrounding restaurants and shops will be open, including the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. restaurant.

As with most reopenings, the use of face coverings will be required at all times, along with physical distancing guidelines.

The pier will be controlling the flow of foot traffic and if it reaches capacity, visitors will have to line up in a queue where they will be allowed to enter on a first-come, first served basis.

The pier first closed on March 16 when L.A. County imposed shut down orders due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
