As you can doubtless tell by all the paraphernalia up in peoples' yards, Halloween is this weekend. Get out your candy baskets, shrink your apples, whatever. Perhaps the best holiday accouterments are pumpkins, especially since you can actually cook with them if carving them up into Martha Stewart-approved iconography isn't really your thing. In that vein, the Wednesday Santa Monica farmers market will be having their annual all-you-can-carry pumpkin patch this Wednesday.

For only five bucks (cash only), you can haul away all the pumpkins you can manage to carry. Just pick them up however you can, and carry them down a 25-foot runway that will be delineated at the market on the corner of Arizona and 2nd street in Santa Monica. Yes, we've seen people dress in costumes for this event, although mostly people just try and load as many on their heads, in their arms, on their backs, etc. Your call. The pumpkins will be available when the market bell rings, at 8:30 a.m., and will go until all the pumpkins are gone.
