Fatal Wrong-Way Crash near Mexico Border in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (June 18, 2021) – Friday morning, 58-year-old Sandra Daniels, died after a wrong-way crash on Interstate 5.

The incident took place near the U.S.-Mexico border just south of downtown San Diego, as stated by the reports.

Daniels was heading north on the southbound side of the freeway at a high rate of speed when her Honda Civic slammed into an oncoming Ford Fusion.

According to the authorities, Daniels may have been disoriented due to low blood sugar.

Due to the impact of the crash, Daniel fatally struck two San Diego police detectives, Ryan Park, 32, and Jamie-Huntley Park, 33.

Meanwhile, the cause of the collision was still being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
