Even though the San Pedro Fish Market has closed its historic San Pedro location, it is offering a Fish Fridays giveaway series on social media for fans to win San Pedro Fish Market meal experiences and prizes, and celebrate seafood every Friday through April 6. Prizes include their World Famous Shrimp Tray dinner at the Long Beach or Wilmington locations. Giveaways take place every other Friday on the Instagram and Facebook account, @SanPedroFish. Winners will be announced every other Friday along with a new giveaway opportunity. For a chance to win, follow the contest rules on each Instagram or Facebook post.

Marking its fourth consecutive year as a donor to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles’ Make March Matter fundraiser, the annual campaign that unites businesses and the community in support of children’s health and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, The h.wood Group will donate $1 of every chicken tender order sold from Delilah  and The Nice Guy

This initiative will put spin on the celebrity dish with the debut of limited-edition Parmesan crusted chicken tenders from The Nice Guy that only will be available to customers through the month of March. As an official participating partner all proceeds will be donated to help ensure the hospital can provide sick and critically injured children with the best quality care.

Trejo’s Coffee & Donuts will team up with Courtney Cowan’s Milk Jar Cookies to create a doughnut inspired by Danny Trejo’s grandmother. Starting Monday, March 6 through the end of the month, head over to Trejo’s Coffee & Donuts in Hollywood to taste the duo’s limited-time ‘Thin-Mint Abuelita Glaze Donut’ with a dark chocolate Abuelita glaze, topped with Milk Jar’s Mint Chocolate Cookie crumble, and drizzled with chocolate peppermint. A portion of the proceeds from the ‘Thin-Mint Abuelita Glaze Donut’ will be donated to CHLA Make March Matter.

The Hollywood Roosevelt will celebrate this year’s 95th Academy Awards ceremony in style on Sunday, March 12, at its exclusive Oscar Viewing Party in the iconic Blossom Ballroom, the location of the first Academy Awards in 1929. Located a half-block away from where the Oscars will be happening live, The Hollywood Roosevelt will host a star-studded viewing gala with a live broadcast of the show surrounded by elegant décor, food and drink, to celebrate all the talented nominees this year.

Tickets are priced at $350/person (inclusive of tax and gratuity) and include:

  • 4 p.m. red carpet arrivals with a step-and-repeat and premium open bar in the hotel’s historic lobby
  • 5 p.m. telecast and viewing gala accompanied by a four-course fixed menu dinner in the Blossom Ballroom
  • Priority access to the hotel’s after-party in the historic lobby featuring live entertainment, dance floor, and bottle service available for purchase
  • Tickets available for purchase here

The event’s dress code is elegant formal gala attire and tables can be booked for larger parties for $3,000 per table. Note that due to street closures and limited parking, the hotel is strongly encouraging guests to use ride share service to 1599 N. Orange Drive or 7092 Hawthorn Ave. Transportation will be provided via shuttles to and from The Hollywood Roosevelt from that drop-off location.

On Wednesday, March 8, at Café Gratitude Larchmont, a pop-up dinner series continues with Executive Chef Seizan Dreux Ellis and Gracias Madre WeHo’s Executive Chef Diana Briscoe. The duo will host a four-course Latin-inspired dinner of  plant-based ingredients, alongside curated wine and non-alcoholic beverage pairings.

The four-course dinner begins with a Costillas de Elote amuse-bouche made with roasted corn ‘ribs’ with mole negro and a crema ajo blanco, and a Chiles en Noaga as an appetizer, a stuffed poblano chile with walnut sauce, sachi inchi chorizo, spiced winter fruit and pomegranate, followed by entreés including the Colombian cornmeal cake with oyster mushroom ‘chicharron’ and ending the night on a sweet note with dessert classics like the Flan de Maracuy, Passionfruit Flan and Berries marinated inpajarote ponche and whipped coconut crema.
