Man Arrested for Hit-And-Run after Car Crash on E Street

WASCO, CA (July 16, 2021) – Sunday, authorities arrested Samuel Perez for hit-and-run and causing serious injuries to another elderly person.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m., in the 700 block of E Street.

Witnesses say a vehicle struck the pedestrian while they were crossing the street, and immediately fled the scene.

Shortly after, medical personnel transported the 78-year-old pedestrian to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Later on, police located the suspect’s vehicle in the 1900 block of D Street and arrested 66-year-old Samuel Perez.

Authorities charged Perez for hit-and-run, reckless driving, resisting or delaying arrest, drug possession and driving without a license.
