Three Hurt in Semi-Truck Collision near V Street

MERCED, CA (July 18, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, Samantha Poulsen, Jesse Montano, and Arturo Macias were hurt in a big-rig crash on Highway 99.

The incident occurred around 2:20 p.m., on July 13th. Emergency crews responded to the scene near V Street shortly after.

Per reports, Poulsen was driving north in a 2019 Kenworth big-rig when she rear-ended a GMC Yukon. The GMC was then hit by another passing 2013 Freightliner, driven by 55-year-old Macias, of Madera.

Due to the impact of the collision, 44-year-old Poulsen suffered pain and was transported to Mercy Medical Center. Crews closed Highway 99 for several hours during cleanup and preliminary duties.

Investigators later determined that the GMC was driven by 57-year-old Montano, of San Jose.
