37-Year-Old Rider Pronounced Dead after Collision near Slough Bridge

EUREKA, CA (January 25, 2022) – A motorcycle crash on Highway 101 claimed the life of 37-year-old Samantha Barney Sunday afternoon.

According to the police, the single vehicle crash took place on the northbound lanes of the freeway, just north of Slough Bridge at 5:19 p.m.

Furthermore, police said that Barney who was riding northbound Highway 101, uncontrollably crashed to a sign in a grassy center median.

Due to the impact of the collision, Barney succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The factors surrounding the crash are now under investigation.

Moreover, both directions of the roadway shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties, but was reopened a short time later.
