Artist Leonard Knight who created Salvation Mountain — a collection of religious messages painted on a mound in Imperial Valley — died on Feb. 10, 2014. He spent many years living near the giant work he spent decades creating. These images were taken in on March 24, 2011. All photos by Ted Soqui.
