One Victim Killed in Fatal DUI Collision near St. Isabel Avenue

NEWARK, CA (January 19, 2022) – Newark police arrested Salvador Silva-Ramierz after a DUI crash near Cedar Boulevard late Saturday.

Officers responded to the incident around 11:20 p.m., near the intersection of St. Isabel Avenue and Cedar Boulevard.

At this time, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, upon arrival, officers discovered one unresponsive male passenger.

Consequently, paramedics transported him to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Although, the identity of the deceased victim has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, the three other occupants sustained minor injuries.

Additionally, authorities arrested Salvador Silva-Ramierz of Newark, for suspicion of DUI. Police are encouraging anyone with information to contact Traffic Officer Anthony Piquette at (510) 578-4953.
