Bus Driver Fatally Strikes One Male Pedestrian near Harvest Drive

WATSONVILLE, CA (November 7, 2022) – Friday night, Salvador Aguirre was killed and Terry Johnson was involved in a crash on Riverside Drive.

The incident happened at 9:48 p.m., near Harvest Drive in the city of Watsonville.

Officers say Johnson was driving a bus westbound and struck a male pedestrian for reasons currently unknown. Medics arrived and transported 43-year-old Aguirre, of Watsonville, to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the bus driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

A large portion of the roadway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
