18-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Head-On Collision near Highway 12

RIO VISTA, CA (December 5, 2022) – Monday night, Ryan Oliver Aguirre was fatally struck in a head-on DUI crash on Highway 160.

Firefighters responded to the scene around 9:40 p.m., along southbound Highway 160, just north of Highway 12.

Per reports, the driver of a Subaru was heading south when they veered across the center divider into oncoming traffic. There, the Subaru collided head-on with a northbound Honda.

Upon impact, the Honda was pushed off the road into a nearby embankment. Emergency crews arrived and used the Jaws of Life to free the trapped Honda driver.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, the Honda driver succumbed to their injuries before arriving at the hospital. Officers later identified him as 18-year-old, Ryan Oliver Aguirre.

Meanwhile, police arrested the Subaru driver for DUI after showing signs of alcohol intoxication. She was later booked to Sacramento County Main Jail for vehicular manslaughter and other related charges.
