Vehicle Collision on Carpenter Road Left One Dead, 2 Injured

TURLOCK, CA (December 29, 2021) – A deadly crash in Turlock claimed the life of Russell Bennett and injured 2 others Monday night.

The fatal incident happened around 11:10 p.m. in the area of Monte Vista Avenue and Carpenter Road.

According to the CHP, a Chevrolet failed to stop on a red light while going eastbound on Monte Vista Avenue.

As a result, a southbound Nissan struck the Chevrolet.

Due to the impact, the Chevrolet rolled over several times and ejected both occupants who were not wearing seatbelts.

Tragically the 33-year-old driver, Russell Bennett of Modesto, died at the scene while the passenger, 25-year-old Danielle Harder, received major injuries.

Meanwhile, the Nissan driver, identified as 44-year-old Victor Flores Barrera of Modesto, suffered from minor injuries.

Turlock Officials considered alcohol/drugs as a factor that contributed to the collision.

Authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash.
