Today and tomorrow (that's August 14th and 15th), Culver City's Rush Street will be celebrating Christmas in August with a dinner and party in the spirit of the holiday, plus a few traditional activities, minus any of the Hannah Montana products that Toys R Us has been pushing since mid-July. Why now? “Because [Christmas] is only 5 months away.” Right.

Different yuletide-ish events will be held Friday and Saturday, but Christmas dinner will be served on both nights, along with dancing and Christmas drink specials throughout the evenings. The feast includes seasonal favorites (winter favorites, that is) like standing rib roast au jus, maple-roasted turkey breast with cider gravy, crab-stuffed salmon in a lemon dill cream sauce and sides that include mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade stuffing, roasted baby root vegetables and glazed Brussels sprouts.

On Friday, help decorate the tree on the “snow” covered patio before posing for Polaroids with Santa and his “naughty elves.” At midnight, the big man will be handing out gifts for all. And on Saturday, bring a white elephant gift to trade at a “White Elephant” themed X-mas Cocktail Party on the snow deck. With activities like deer pong (beer pong with reindeer antlers) and Mrs. Claus Pole Room fun at Midnight, you just know it's going to be a classy night.
