Yes, it's a little early for Coachella 2010 rumors, but we couldn't pass this one up: Brooklyn Vegan last night posted a semi-speculated, semi-reported suggestion that Pavement will be playing Central Park's Summerstage concert series next year. This morning Pitchfork seems to confirm said reunion.

But the intriguing — and TOTALLY UNCONFIRMED — rumor that's tied to this is the suggestion that Pavement will perform at next year's Coachella. Of course, the past half decade's Coachella announcements have been rife with Pavement reunification rumors, and this one is no different. Until we hear it from Paul Tollett's mouth, we won't believe it.

Writes Brooklyn Vegan: “There will be multiple, possibly four, nights of shows at NYC's Central Park Summerstage in September of that year. That could be part of a tour. That could be the end of a tour, the middle of a tour, or even the beginning of a tour, but it seems reasonable to speculate that they might make their official comeback at Coachella in April.”
