36-Year-Old Man Killed in Auto-Pedestrian Accident on Almond Street

DOS PALOS, CA (May 31, 2022) – Wednesday morning, 36-year-old Ruben Zapien was killed in a pedestrian collision on Almond Street.

The incident took place in the driveway of a residence at the 2500 block of Almond Street around 3:14 a.m.

According to reports, a farm labor bus driver felt he had run over something when he was pulling out of a driveway. Shortly after, he checked and found a person beneath the vehicle.

Responding officers arrived and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Officials later identified the deceased man as 36-year-old Zapien, of Dos Palos.

Meanwhile, the driver of the bus stayed on the scene to cooperate with the investigation. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is underway. Dos Palos officials will issue updates as soon as they become available.
