45-Year-Old Dirt Bike Rider Killed in Collision near Casino del Sol

TUCSON, AZ (February 17, 2022) – Wednesday night, 45-year-old Ruben Martinez was killed in a dirt bike accident on Valencia Road.

The fatal incident occurred around 8:15 p.m., on February 9. Per reports, Martinez was riding a Kawasaki dirt bike east on Valencia Road.

Martinez then collided with a Nissan sedan that was turning left onto Casino del Sol Drive at the intersection.

Due to the impact of the crash, medics pronounced Martinez dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan did not sustain any injuries and stayed at the scene for further inquisition.

Following preliminary investigations, crews determined that the dirt bike did not have headlights on at the time. As a result, speed and impairment did not play a factor in the collision.
