One Killed in MotorcycleCollision near Ocotillo Wells Airport

BORREGO SPRINGS, CA (October 26, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, Ruben Gutierrez was killed in a motorcycle crash on Shell Reef Expressway.

Police responded to the scene around 3:31 p.m., near Ocotillo Wells Airport on October 22nd.

According to reports, 18-year-old Gutierrez was heading east and collided with a westbound pickup-truck.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced Gutierrez dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the pickup-truck driver remained unharmed.

A large portion of the roadway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, further events leading up to the fatal collision have not been released. Further investigation is still ongoing.
