Teen Killed in Motorized Scooter Crash near Vermont Square Area

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 15, 2022) – A scooter accident on South Figueroa Street left Ruben Castano killed Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident occurred around 4:00 p.m., at the 4200 block of South Figueroa Street.

Per reports, 16-year-old Castano was riding a scooter in the area when he was struck by a passing vehicle. Due to the impact of the collision, Castano was pronounced dead at the scene.

Eventually, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 16-year-old Ruben Castano, of Los Angeles.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident on South Figueroa Street remain unclear. Although, an active investigation is still ongoing.
