Pictured here is royal harpist Claire Jones, along with her harp. Claire Jones is from Crymych, which–for those of you who aren't in the know– is a small village of around 400 inhabitants in the north of Pembrokeshire, Wales. She became the official harpist to the Prince of Wales in 2007–the third in a line of three official harpists after the tradition was revived in the year 2000. The last official harpist, Jemima Phillips, spiraled into drug addiction and narrowly escaped a prison sentence, as the Daily Mail helpfully reports. Here is a short interview with the BBC wherein Claire Jones shows off her chops with some pretty arpeggios and glissandos for your listening pleasure.
