Riverside Woman Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near 200th Street East

LANCASTER, CA (February 3, 2023) – Tuesday night, Rosa Alvarenca was involved and a woman was killed in a pedestrian crash on Avenue J.

The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m., near 200th Street East.

According to reports, a woman was standing outside of her disabled 2004 Toyota that was partially blocking the roadway. There, the driver of a 2011 Ford struck her.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the 68-year-old woman from Riverside dead at the scene. However, officers have not yet released her identity.

Meanwhile, the 52-year-old Ford driver from Barstow, Rosa Alvarenca, remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. Alvarenca and her 56-year-old passenger, Maria Rodriguez of Barstow, were unharmed.

Lancaster Officials are asking anyone with further information to contact their offices as soon as possible.
