4 People Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash near Albers/Geer Road

MODESTO, CA (November 18, 2022) – Rosario Guadalupe Velarde Requena and Gerardo Duran-Escatel were injured in a crash involving CHP officers early Sunday morning.

The accident happened around 2:45 a.m. along Yosemite Boulevard and Albers/Geer Roads.

According to reports, Requena was traveling in a 2014 Dodge SUV south on Albers when she collided with the right side of a 2014 Dodge Charger police patrol responding to a traffic collision on Yosemite.

The Charger, occupied by two CHP officers, had its lights and sirens on, was thrown southwest into a power pole, where it came to a complete stop.

Responding medics arrived shortly and took both officers to Doctors Medical Center with minor lacerations and complaints of pain.

Meanwhile, the SUV occupants, Rosario Guadalupe Velarde Requena, 50, of Ceres, and her passenger, Gerardo Duran-Escatel, 51 of Modesto were also taken to Doctors Medical Center for treatment.

The events leading up to the collision are still under active investigation.
