Woman Killed after Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash on Winton Way

FRESNO, CA (January 31, 2022) – Rosa De Sousa lost her life Wednesday night after a pedestrian hit-and-run crash on Winton Way.

The incident happened around 7:00 p.m., January 19th, along the street at Winton Way and Fay Drive.

According to reports, a white Ford pickup truck struck the woman crossing the street. The driver did not stop or render aid to the woman, and fled the scene.

Due to the impact, the collision sent the woman into southbound lanes of traffic, where another vehicle had struck her.

Tragically, officers pronounced the woman, De Sousa, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, the driver of the second vehicle remained and cooperated with the authorities.

Fresno police continue to look for the hit-and-run driver and ask anyone who witness to contact them at their offices.
