Ayara Thai has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand for the first socially-distant Thai Movie Drive-in on Friday, July 31st through Sunday, August 2nd in Ayara Thai’s parking lot. The weekend festivities include: Thai films paired with Thai inspired chef-curated movie snacks like Thai flavored potato chips, Pad Thai chicken nachos, fried sweet potato doughnuts and Thai Sai Oua hot dogs, a Northern Thai lemongrass pork sausage in a potato roll, topped with Anaheim chili nam prik num relish.

Tickets are $50 per car and include an Ayara Snack Kit with two fountain drinks of choice, Thai Flavor Lay’s Potato Chips, Thai fried bananas, curry popcorn, and Thai candied peanuts. Additional food, snacks and beverages will be available for purchase along with complimentary window cleaning before the start of the show.

The latest restaurant to open this week at The Original Farmers Market is Roxy and Jo’s Seafood Grill and Oyster Bar, a new open-air, marine-themed seafood restaurant featuring everything from seafood salads to crab cakes, fried calamari, poké, ceviché, as well as homemade chowders, custom seafood platters, hand battered fish tacos, lobster rolls, salmon burgers and beer battered fish and chips.

E.P. & L.P. has opened a new limited-time-only Tulum-inspired rooftop Las Palmas pop-up overlooking the Hollywood Hills and marks the first time formal dinner service has been offered on the rooftop concept adjacent to the L.P. Rooftop, with signature dishes including ceviche, lobster quesadilla and  tropical summer cocktails.

With outdoor cinematic gatherings on hold for the summer, The Melrose Rooftop Theatre space has been redesigned with beachy lounge furniture and oasis décor for a socially distanced al fresco dining experience.

Chef Sang Yoon debuts a new Korean fried chicken sandwich at Father’s Office Culver City on Wednesday, August 5th during their new business hours 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Sat & Sun 12 p.m. – 9 p.m.; closed Mondays & Tuesdays. It’s a boneless fried chicken thigh with spicy kimchi slaw and charred scallion sesame aioli.

DTLA Pizza is a new takeout and delivery concept from Chef Michael Hung of Faith & Flower that launched this week, featuring two different styles of pizza –  Neapolitan-style pies from the wood oven and Sicilian-style pan pizzas with thick focaccia crusts. In addition to the classic 4-Cheese Pizza, DTLA Pizza offers two other Signature Pizzas: The Street Meat Magic Pizza loaded with pepperoni, mortadella, Italian sausage, and prosciutto, and It’s Literally Possible Pizza which is a fully plant-based pizza prepared with Impossible sausage, marinated peppers and onions, and vegan mozzarella. In addition to the signature pizzas, guests can also Build Your Own Pizza with a selection of more than a dozen toppings, and all of the pizzas can be made either Neapolitan Style or Sicilian Style.

Terra, Eataly LA’s outdoor rooftop restaurant, has launched a cocktail collaboration series for the upcoming months. The Century City Italian market is partnering with beverage experts, bartenders, and distilleries from all across Los Angeles to pop-up and show off unique cocktails every week with a portion of the proceeds going to Restaurants Care.

First up will be Ventura Spirits from Ventura California on Thursday, August 6th from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. They will be popping up each Thursday in August with their signature spirits to create cocktails like Amaro Angeleno Spritz featuring Amaro Angeleno, prosecco, and a grapefruit wedge and a Golden Negroni with Wilder Gin, Amaro Angeleno, and Blanc Vermouth – two summer takes on Italian classics.

Go Go Gyoza founder / Hinoki & the Bird Chef Brandon Kida is kicking off a Summer Chef Collab with a few of his chef friends – Neal Fraser, Mei Lin, Kevin Meehan and Jon Yao! These chefs from some of L.A.’s best kitchens have conjured up dumplings for a limited time with 25% of the proceeds going to an organization of their choice. Chef Meehan is allocating all of his proceeds to The Niles Foundation.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • Available July 18th – 31st: The partnership kicks off this Saturday with Neal Fraser’s Heritage Pork Gyoza with Calabrian Chili Soy dipping sauce. 25% of the proceeds sold will go to Redbird’s C-CAP Los Angeles scholarship fund for Black students.
  • Available August 1st – 14th: Mei Lin’s next with a Truffle Cheeseburger Gyoza with Spicy Truffle Sauce. 25% of the proceeds going to Nightshade’s employee relief fund.
  • Available August 15th – 28th: Kevin has created a Dry-aged Flannery Beef with Smoked Scallions and Black Garlic Gyoza with a black garlic ponzu sauce.
  • Available August 29th – September 11th: Jon will be creating a Fennel Sausage Gyoza with a Black Vinegar Glaze. 25% of proceeds will go to NAACP.
  • Brandon Kida is adding a Dungeness Crab and Kurobuta Pork Belly Gyoza with a Singaporean-inspired Chili Dip to the Go Go Gyoza menu. 25% of the proceeds will go to No Kid Hungry.
