68-Year-Old Modesto Man Killed in Santa Ana Avenue Hit-and-Run

MODESTO, CA (February 10, 2023) – Wednesday morning, Ronald Swindle was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Modesto.

The incident happened on February 8th, just before 7:00 a.m., between Yosemite Boulevard and Santa Ana Avenue.

According to reports, officers learned that a westbound vehicle struck an elderly man who was crossing the street. However, the driver did not stop to render aid to the victim and instead fled the scene.

Later, authorities identified the victim as 68-year-old Ronald Swindle of Modesto. Investigators said that Swindle succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Currently, Modesto Officials are working to identify the suspect who continued to travel west on Yosemite Boulevard after the crash.
