Pedestrian Dies in Fatal Collision near 9th Street in Modesto

MODESTO, CA (April 20, 2021) – Friday night, 47-year-old Ronald Bryan Brown was fatally struck in a deadly pedestrian crash on Highway 99.

According to CHP, Brown was standing in the center median before he entered the southbound lanes. There, a bronze Hyundai Accent traveling at about 70-75 mph in the fast lane struck Brown.

Due to the impact of the crash, first responders pronounced Brown dead on scene. Meanwhile, the driver and passenger inside the Hyundai remained uninjured.

At this time, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision. However, an active investigation to determine further details is still underway.
